Free Conference in Berkeley this Weekend

April 9, 2007

This is a completely FREE and student-run conference that focuses on current issues affecting the API community with interactive workshops and free Cambodian food. The keynote speaker this year is Lillian Galedo and there will be noon concert with performances by Rey Resurrecccion and Trademark, Braindrops, Connie Lim, and Lijie.

One of our very own editors, Lisa Wong Macbasco, will be conducting a workshop on "Yellow Journalism: Asian Americans and the News Media" where she shares her secret tactics for running an APA publication, along side Belinda Wong, a national organizational development consultant who will be conducting a workshop on leadership development for Asian American women.

For more information on all the different workshops, click here.

The Hyphen team will be there as well, tabling, selling our newest issue and offering subscription discounts. So, make a stop and see us!

As the conference team puts it best, "Attend workshops! Learn about issues! Get (re)educated!"

Cheers to that!
