CBS fires Dog House With JV & Elvis shock jocks

May 12, 2007

The Dog House with JV & Elvis, was hosted by Jeff Vandergrift and Dan Lay. They aired the bit a few weeks back, but nobody complained until it was rebroadcast after the Don Imus firing. Then Asian American groups started a campaign to have the Dog House crew canned.

I looked around for the clip in question, but didn't find it. I'll keep looking, but if anyone knows a link, please post.

Is it offensive? Without hearing it, I don't know, but it would seem to be on the surface. But to some people it may be funny. There's a fine line between satire that's humorous and has a point and something that's offensive, especially when it comes to race.

DOGHOUSE DOGHOUSE DOGHOUSE...Can't wait till they go to satellite, best radio show since Howard Stern. All these pussy groups will learn the hard way, just cause you got your feelings hurt doesn't mean everyone thinks they should be censored.SATELLITE!!! DOGHOUSE COME ON HURRY UP AND GET ON XM or SIRIUS!Screw vickie smoler and the oca fags.
Great so now this group who despite their LIES, DO NOT represent the majority, has indirectly decided that because they had their feelings hurt...THAT NO ONE BE ABLE TO LISTEN...No not change the station, but decide that NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO LISTEN!!Please visit http://peopleagainstcensorship.org to learn how you can help in the fight against super-sensitive, media-loving special interest groups.
Wonderful news! Vicious voice is now silenced! Gone with it are those two uglys faces.
These guys, along with Imus, were fired for being bullies. I thought the segment was totally stupid and not funny, but it could have been funny. Racist? I don't know.My wife is Chinese and she is sick of people making fun of her accent or her inability to pick up every word. That is bullying and sometimes people don't realize it.I'm totally against censorship, but I think these guys blew it on the bullying part. I would not have fired these guys.
Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequence. You fucked with the wrong bull.
You guys are all sensitive little babies... I bet you were the type tell on the teacher for taking your legos when you were children too..It was a prank call.. So take you shlimp flied rice and chew on that...DOGHOUSE WILL BE BACK... Sorry Ms. Smolin
I wasn't too supportive of Imus' firing, but I'll definitely agree with the ousting of JV and Elvis; I embarrasingly enough used to listen to a few of their shows from time to time, but I had to stop - they definitely had an uncomfortable anti-Asian tone to their humor (remember the Asian guy who died in the snow, after being lost for several days out West; he was married to a white lady.. well, JV & Elvis tossed in "jokes" there.. ); the irony also is that JV is married to a gorgeous Asian model; and yet, with no sense of respect to his wife, he continued on; well, good riddance to his radio career; maybe she'll wisen up, see what little regard he has to Asians, and tell him to take a hike..somehow though I doubt that'll happen.
This is very disturbing news. I listened to the clip and thought it was funny. I have listened to other clips where every race's attributes were made fun of. America is becoming hostile against free speech. The right wing Christians are beginning to look like new Nazis.
http://www.falloutcentral.com/http://www.falloutcentral.com/news/2007/04/28/racist-broadcast-by-923-fm-an-insult-to-asian-americans/http://www.falloutcentral.com/news/2007/04/27/jv-elvis-audio-clip-2-an-insult-to-the-asian-american-community/http://www.falloutcentral.com/news/2007/04/27/jv-elvis-audio-clip-3-an-insult-to-the-asian-american-community/Beautiful, a useful object lesson to those who feel that Asians/Asian-Americans can be subjected to racism and racist stereotypes without being held accountable for their actions. There must be an active, agressive response every time something like this is perpetrated on our community. This isn't an argument about free speech or censorship. Asian Americans exercised our free speech when we moved to get the show's sponsors to drop their support for racist programming. Asian Americans exercised our free speech when we made the strident statement that we will not tolerate racism against our community. Asian Americans exercised our free speech when we demanded that CBS follow it's OWN policies and accord the Asian American community equal respect with other communities in regards to broadcast racism.Today is a good day.
Freedom of speech. They are free to make whatever racist joke or rant they want to.It is also our right to make a big stink and make sure they feel the consequences of their actions. Now that they are off the air, they are free to make whatever racist little rant they want. Its freedom of speech, not "freedom to act like a racist as a Radio DJ and expect to keep your job".They want to keep up this crap? go create their own Radio station. Lets see how many sponsors they can get.
they are not racist you assholes im racist and wouldn't touch that burping farting customary crap you people call food you not in china and you havent seen racist behavior yet oh thats right you wouldn't live in china with all those nappy headed hos back off and change the station
Two KKK looking guys "hung out to dry". Its good to not have to hear crap play on free-radio waves."Just cause your white, does not make it alright".
