The festival’s theme this year seems to focus on Asian Americans going global [1], especially in terms of backing and inspiration for their films. But I am always on a quest to discover the Great Asian American Film: will it be the South Asian American feature about a relationship termination specialist [2] and his cousin, or the Oscar-winning director’s comedic take on a ping pong [3] movie, or will Wayne Wang prove himself to be the master of the Asian American film?
