The Asian American theater company Second Generation [3] presents the world premiere production of Thunder Above, Deeps Below [4] by A. Rey Pamatmat. A trio of homeless youth beg on the streets of Chicago for bus fare westward, with a journey through coffee shops, drag clubs, and mythic Lake Michigan waters.

Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) 40th Anniversary
Founded by a group of young Asian American activists in 1969, CAA [7] aims to defend civil rights and advance multiracial democracy in America. CAA will be commemorating four decades of work with a "Celebration of Justice" dinner, including a keynote address by State Controller John Chiang. Hyphen was an honoree at last year's event.
