Closing Reception of Rizal 150 Exhibit

Enjoy the Rizal 150 exhibit one last time at this closing reception. Writers from Philippine American Writers & Artists Inc. [1] (PAWA)'s new book Remembering Rizal will read excerpts. Resident Rizalista Penelope Flores will read a special letter from the Knights of Rizal of Heidelberg. Books and Rizal Genius t-shirts will be on sale. Refreshments provided. Sketch comedy group 18 Mighty Mountain Warriors [3] present the world premiere of ¡Asiático! by Herbert Siguenza. All new material, including "European Vampires and a Chinese vampire experience a clash of cultures and everything you wanted to know about Central Asia in song." Intro to Screenwriting with Koji Steven Sakai


Visual Communications [5] is partnering with Koji Steven Sakai to present a ten-session course on the craft of screenwriting. Students will learn proper formatting and structure as well as how to create effective plots, characters, and dialogue – all the necessary techniques to draft a first screenplay. The final class will be dedicated to the business of screenwriting and making it in the industry. Koji Steven Sakai has written two feature films: Haunted Highway, co-written with Naoko Ihara Witmer and The People I've Slept With, a romantic comedy directed by Quentin Lee. Koji is also the manager of public programs at the Japanese American National Museum [6]. More info here [7].
