The Year of the Dog

Submitted by hyphen-migration on Mon, 05/01/2006 - 4:26pm

Do you know anyone who is honest, loyal and faithful but completely stubborn? The Year of the Dog could explain it all. With Oliver Chin’s warm-fuzzy writing and Jeremiah Alcorn’s spunky illustrations, the year of the dog is cuter than ever.

Daniel the puppy, born on New Year’s day, is challenged to protect his best friend Lin. As the puppy tries to prove to his parents that he’s up to the task, Chin cleverly introduces all of the characters from the Chinese lunar calendar. A monkey appears in a tree, a rabbit darts by, but ultimately it’s the dragon that little Daniel has to frighten away.

Perfect for kids, and anyone born in 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994 or 2006. www.immedium.com [1] —S.B.
