Dreamoate — Patience

January 11, 2010

For those with a penchant for all things twee, Oakland, CA's Dreamdate delivers 12 tasty pop confections in the band's sophomore effort, Patience. With an assortment of songs filled with fun friendships and bittersweet romance, Dreamdate continues its tradition of making music for swaying hips and locking lips. Two-minute stories are told with soft introspection over glossy guitars and gritty drum beats with some perfectly placed hand claps. Each tune feels like a confession or inside joke told between two best friends, performed with absolute ease and exposed honesty - which stands to reason, as Yea-Ming Chen and Anna Hillburg are best friends even when they're not playing music. So meet your new BFF: Dreamdate.
