Vanessa Hua is an award-winning journalist.  A former staff
writer at the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, and Hartford
Courant, she has also filed stories from China, South Korea, Burma, and Panama and has written for the New York Times and Newsweek, among
other publications.  She is working
on a novel and a collection of short stories.  A
