Hung Wins Top Chef

Hung Huynh, a 29-year-old, Vietnamese American from Massachusetts who had been cooking in Vegas, was not the audience favorite but won over the judges with his Asian-themed final meal.

I was no big fan of Hung, but I am really interested in how well Asian Americans do on these hip Bravo reality shows. Hung and Chloe Dao are representing for the Vietnamese Americans. When are the South Asian chefs/designers going to make a splash?

Were people rooting for Hung?

I was rooting for Hung from the beginning. It was clear by mid-season that his arrogance and antics were, in part, an act.

hmm, based on my friends on livejournal, it seems that a lot of people were rooting for Hung! times like these, i wish i had cable (not that i have time to watch much TV nowadays). i heard there was a lotta drama!

WOO HOO!Congrats Hung!Yeah, he was an asshole, but it was refreshing to see an Asian American asshole...WOO HOO!And it's strange, but maybe other Asian Americans feel the same; I feel proud when I see another Asians on TV, we're a huge population and it's about time we showed our presence on camera as well!Check out my blog, too! I wasn't rooting for Hung. He is too irrogant. I was rooting for Sara Nguygen, but then she got cut. The next best was Casey. I can't help it though, I root for females.

Go Hung.White men are assholes all the time, and yet people still root for them.Hung wasn't even an asshole, and yet people hated on him. Well, he won. That's one thing that's right with the world.
