This award-winning documentary chronicles the life of Torrance, CA Sergeant Ted Tanouye, as uncovered by a group of high school students. While serving as a member of the 442nd Regiment, Tanouye's family was incarcerated at Jerome and Rohwer camps. Screening will be followed by a Q & A with filmmaker Robert Horsting.

"Diaspora Tale #2: 1969" is an interdisciplinary work featuring jazz music by saxophonist Francis Wong and the Francis Wong Unit, with spoken word artist A.K. Black and dancer-choreographer Lenora Lee. The work will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the UC Berkeley Third World Strike. A short panel discussion about the legacy of the Strike and a documentary photo exhibit will be included. Proceeds will benefit Oakland Asian Cultural Center's programs and services. More info here.
