Coco Lee Takes Another Crack at U.S. Market

Chinese pop singer Coco Lee is releasing a new English-language album on March 25 in hopes of making it big in the United States. From the looks of the album's cover, she's trying the "show lots of skin" Britney-Spears-Christina-Aguilera model for success.

Lee is actually Asian American, having grown up in San Francisco, but she made a name for herself in Hong Kong and Taiwan, where she's a big star.

I last caught a glimpse of Lee in the documentary, "The Year of the Yao," shown at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (try saying that three times fast). Lee was shown singing the national anthem before one of NBA star Yao Ming's games, one of the many hokey "Chinese" or "Asian American" days that seem to happen in basketball arenas when Yao is a visiting player.

I'm not a fan of Lee's music genre, but it'd be nice to see her do well.

I am a fan of Coco Lee's music but not a fan of the way she's trying to dress. Britney and Christina are not setting good examples for their younger fans. I know six year olds who think of them as their role models!
she has a very beautiful voice, and nice body,I have been waiting for her new single for a long time :P
ugh! as if Britney and Xtina weren't enough. we'll now have our own trashy-dressing asian singer
CoCo can dress any way she wants to; she's a grown woman now and her fans aren't watching Saturday morning cartoons. However, the songs on "Exposed" are not that great and I doubt it will ever be released in the US unless they somehow record new songs.
please don't say that Coco looks like Britney or Christina coz' I hate them!! and Coco has more the hiphop style, she is the one!
um, please, look at what she's wearing. how can you NOT compare that to Britney or Christina?
...or lil' kim...she's working it. that's what pop stars do.

I am a fan of coco lee; however, i do not recommend this cd. there are only a few good songs and a lot of them sound really fake and so not her, she can do so much better.
how can u ever say that i mean just bcuz u say that shes turning into this duznt mean that she's a bad influence. if she wants to be a singer like that then let her b. all singers have their ups and downs but this is what coco probably wants to be. and i think her songs are pretty good. its not what you would usually get and its not chinese but she has a good voice.
