This is the first Asian American film bankrolled by Hollywood since the Joy Luck Club -- it's been 12 years. Show your support, not just cause it's an Asian American film, but because it's a pretty good one.

Here's a story that ran in Sunday's New York Times about how Wu stuck to her guns and resisted Hollywood's attempts to replace her characters with white ones and make the love story a heterosexual one.

When will this open in Honolulu? With our large Asian/Pacific population, this film should do well here.

Here's a letter from director Alice Wu:Some GREAT news. We had a smashing opening weekend in New York and LA and ended up with the 2nd Highest Per Screen Average at $16,510 per screen (just below Star Wars, but ahead of the other dozen or so blockbusters we were competing with)! It was terrifically gratifying to see all the sold-out shows. Many thanks to all of you for helping get the word out!
