So our new issue is out. Subscribers in our vicinity, i.e. the SF Bay Area, should've received copies in the mail a few weeks ago. And if you are a dear subscriber living in Minnesota or whatnot, and haven't received your issue, they have been mailed out so please be patient!!
It's out in stores now too. We're proud of it. Neela Banerjee and I managed the issue, but everyone worked super-hard on it, from the photogs to the freelance writers and everyone else on the edit side, to the biz team.
Here's a sneak peek at what's inside the new issue. Check out the recap of the first annual Mr. Hyphen. And guess what? Mr. Hyphen himself, Robin Sukhadia, even makes his Hyphen re-debut with a feature of North Indian classical - and not-so-classical - music. Also check out five profiles on hip-hop artists from MCs and DJ Native Guns to b-girl Peppa. And there's a whole lot more.
We're proud of it because we continue to hone talented, experienced and up-and-coming writers and artists. And our very own, very talented Hyphen staff like director of photography Seng Chen and art director Cielo Oreste, who created the beautiful cover.
And keep this in mind - the issue was created in-between our day jobs, summer vacations, family affairs and life in general. Hyphen is still an all volunteer run magazine and organization.
We're all bizzy, dizzy folks who could be spending our spare time doing other stuff, but we're choosing to spend our time together working on this collective labor of love called Hyphen.
We hope you like it!
