New Asian American Show Airs Tonight

December 26, 2006

If you're cringing because of memories of All American Girl, there's some good talent involved, so maybe it will be more promising. The pilot is directed by Eric Byler, the director of Charlotte Sometimes and Americanese. And the cast includes Karin Anna Cheung, Tamlyn Tomita, Dennis Dun, Autumn Reeser, and Di Quon.

actually i'm cringing because this show seems to play up the cute teen girl angle at the expense of anyone appearing to be a normal asian american male character. wtf? between this and hero hiro of "heroes" not kissing the girl (of course -- aka the bruce lee syndrome), it's been a long year.
I highly recommend "The Singles Table" for your asian-am viewing pleasure. The pilot aired once in September and it's scheduled to air again in February.
