  • From the confusing file: Two candidates with the last name Chu face each other in a runoff for the Southern California Congressional seat that includes Sriracha's headquarters. Judy Chu or Betty Chu will be Southern California's only Asian American rep. The district is heavily Democratic, giving Judy the edge.

Editor in Chief Harry Mok wrote about growing up on a Chinese vegetable farm for the second issue of Hyphen and has been a volunteer editor since 2004. As a board member of the San Francisco and New York chapters of the Asian American Journalists Association, Harry has recruited and organized events for student members. Bit megaloasiatic aren't we? Corporate top execs invariably tend to derive from a more global pool of candidates than employeess out on the floor, not from just down the block. Heck they tend to have a collection of houses scattered about the land to mark their previous positions. Anybody who knows anything is already aware of this.
