Asian Sisters Participating in Reaching Excellence (ASPIRE) Outstanding Woman of the Year

aspire2009cropped.JPGASPIRE presents the second annual Outstanding Woman of the Year Award, recognizing young Asian American Women in high school or college who are leaders and role models in their communities. The winner will be awarded at the Asian American Women in Leadership (AAWIL) Conference on October 3rd in Boston. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the conference and spend a day with an ASPIRE mentor. Get more info and submit a nomination here.

Reel Queer Video Production and Media Literacy Course -- Seattle

RQ_Web.jpgThis summer, Reel Grrls is hosting their first Queer-focused video production and media literacy training for LGBTQA - identifying youth aged 13-19. The four day course will take place July 20, 22, 27 and 29 from 10 am to 4 pm.16 slots open, applications here and accepted on first-come, first-serve basis.  Videos will be screened as part of the 2009 Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in September. Applications due June 30th.
