Vigil for Euna Lee, Laura Ling on Wednesday in San Francisco

June 24, 2009

Michael Saldate, Lee's husband, and Ian Clayton, Ling's husband, will appear together and speak at the vigil. Lee is a 2001 graduate of Academy of Art University's School of Motion Pictures and Television in San Francisco.

Current and past cast members of Hair, The Musical, as well as well as Young Performers International, have volunteered to perform in honor of the cause. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and San Francisco city officials have been invited, the university said in a press release.

The gathering will be webcast live.

Here's some background on Lee and Ling's imprisonment.

I have been watching this closely and it is so sad. I am glad that a vigil is being held, it will keep the focus on those young women.
I was watching a video on YouTube that Laura was hosting and enjoyed it so much that I Googled her......only to find out that she's one of the two prisoners taken hostage in North Korea. I feel so bad for Laura. I pray that she and the other woman will make it out alright.
I'm glad you posted this, thank you for keeping Euna and Laura in the news - and thank you to everyone who coordinated and attended the vigil.Praying for their release.
