K-Date Comix: Laughter and Matchmaking

In the Korean practice of "booking", nightclub waiters play matchmakers by dragging strangers to different tables for impromptu meet-and-greets. After having a drink together, the paired couple can decide to stick together or go their separate ways. Local comedians will also do attempt hook-ups, adding a running commentary to liven things up. Produced and hosted by ImaginAsian and E! Entertainment comedienne Helen Hong.

Flash Fest! A Celebration of the Art of Flash Fiction Writing

Join the the Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW) for Flash Fest!, an event focusing on fiction of 1,000 words or less. Flash writers Tara Masih, Shouhua Qi, and Nina Sharma will read their works. The evening will culminate in a competition, with the writing of participants from AAWW's flash fiction workshop read anonymously by actors and writers Samantha Chanse, Jo Mei, Kamilah Aisha Moon, John Park, and Nandita Shenoy. The audience will be invited to judge and select the winner.
