Screenwriters go head-to-head competing in front of a live audience and panel of judges (including actor and comedienne Amy Hill) with one-minute pitches to win a meeting with FOX executives. Screenwriters will be judged on performance and persuasive techniques, quality and originality of writing, and presentation. Tribute to Filipino American World War II Veterans

FilAm_veterans2.JPGCommemorating Filipino American History Month, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program presents a panel discussison to honor the history of Filipino and Filipino American veterans and their campaign for recognition and equity for citizenship and veterans; benefits. Photojournalist Rick Rocamora, who documented the plight of elderly veterans starting new lives in the US, will discuss his documentary photography and sign copies of his book America's Second Class Veterans. Hollywood Chinese: The Arthur Dong Collection

hollywoodsmall2.JPGThe Chinese American Museum partners with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Arthur Dong for an exhibition on the century-deep history of Chinese American cinematic contributions, both in front of and behind the camera. A collection of classic and contemporary movie memorabilia and depictions of how the Chinese have been imagined in Hollywood will be on public display. More info here.
