The Winter Shorts Community Screening

The four shorts will include "Half Kenneth" (DGA Student Film Jury Award), and "Chinese Antique". Event includes a special meal of beef curry, oyaku-don, unagi bowl, and vegan tempura don.

Noho Hewa Sreening & Talk

nohohewa.jpgIn the Hawaiian language, hewa means "wrong" and noho means "to occupy". This documentary is a contemporary look at Hawaiian people, politics, and resistance in the face of their systematic erasure under US laws, miltarism, economy, and real estate speculation, told from the perspectives of Hawaiians. Screening will be followed by a talk from Anne Keala Kelly, a Hawaiian journalist and filmmkaer, and Dr. Sally E. Merry, professor of Anthropology.
