"An American Diary": Roger Shimomura Lecture
Artist Roger Shimomura will present "An American Diary", a lecture on his work spanning over 40 years, and propelled by various historical and political events. Shimomura's paintings, prints, and theatre pieces address sociopolitical issues of Asian Ameria and have often been inspired by diaries kept by his immigrant mother. In conjunction with his exhibit Yellow Terror, on display though April 18, 2010.

To Curry Favor: Scented Work on Paper is a solo show of new work by artist Sita Kuratomi Bhaumik. Believing that scent carries a cultural weight that belies its invisibility, the artist uses spices, sights, tastes, and smells to evoke culinary and cultural memory and the impermanence of identity and place.
