Parents of little ones in the Los Angeles area -- if you’ve been aching to go to the L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival but have had some trouble finding a babysitter, I have the perfect event for you. Playing this Saturday is Itsy Bitsy Shorts, a program for the youngest festivalgoers, about "the joys of traveling with others, and the need to sometimes fly solo."
Among the short films are "Out On A Limb" by Daisy Lin, "Orange City" by Qingyuan Wang, "Electric Car" by Tiny Inventions, "Where, There Here" by Soyeon Kim, and "Cherry On The Cake" by Hyebin Lee. All of the films are less than ten minutes long, which is good news for the smallest of the smalls who don't sit still for very long.
Even better news is that after all of that sitting still, the kids get an interactive playtime with "Cat Lady" Kristina Wong!
The event goes down this Saturday, May 7, 11 a.m., at CGV Cinemas in Koreatown. CGV Cinemas is located at 621 S. Western, between 6th and Wilshire. For more information, visit the Itsy Bitsy Shorts event page or CGV Cinemas.
We haven't been out for a good show since Yo Gabba Gabba Live so I'm looking forward to taking my family. See you mamas and dads (and other fans of animation) there!
