Jung Yun was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. After graduating from Vassar College and the University of Pennsylvania, she moved to New York City, where she worked for not-for-profit organizations such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the New York Public Library. In 2002, she relocated to Western Massachusetts to pursue her M.F.A. in creative writing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she currently works as a faculty developer. Her work has appeared in Tin House (the “Emerging Voices” issue); The Best of Tin House: Stories, edited by Dorothy Allison; and The Massachusetts Review; and she is a recipient of an honorable mention for the Pushcart Prize and an Artists Fellowship in Fiction from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
