Bay Area Now & Goh Nakamura in NY

July 22, 2008

Jennifer Wofford, who was interviewed for the current issue (#14), also guest-curated for this show, picking some choice bits from the Galleon Trade art exchange for Bay Area Now 5. One of the artists in that show is Michael Arcega, who talked to us in issue 9.

Another Asian American artist in Bay Area Now 5 is Misako Inaoka, who makes these oddly seductive animal and plant hybrid sculptures.

I haven't been to see the show yet, but I'm excited about it and will definitely make my way over there.

Now, on to New York. Songwriter Goh Nakamura, who played at the Hyphen issue 13 release party, is visiting New York this week and will be playing 2 shows.

One is tonight! July 22nd, 11pm, at Pete's Candy Store.

He also plays tomorrow night, July 23rd, 8 pm at Pianos NYC.
