Now I might be wrong as to the general message each candidate is trying to relay here, but collectively, what I'm hearing is: Don't vote for me just because I'm a woman/black/have a nice haircut, but don't forget how momentous it'd be if I were in office. I get that there's the usual amount of politicking that runs amok during primary season -- and will undoubtedly barrel through Election Day -- and a lot of that talk remains out of the hands of individual candidates, but what IS the central message about the role race, gender, and class play in these elections? And are they supposed to factor in to our choices at the ballot box at all?
Thoughts, anyone?
