Bruce Lee on Broadway

May 20, 2008

The choice of Sher as a director is interesting. Though his helming of South Pacific has received praise from theatre critics, the subject matter and characters of the WWII-era musical are questionable to some, despite its exploration of racial prejudice. But audiences should feel reassured since the script is in the capable hands of David Henry Hwang. And at the very least, it'll be a platform for more Asian American theatre actors who are sick of being in "Miss Saigon."
