Here's the entirety of hapa co-director Yasmine Gomez' short film Self-Absorbed,
which is playing at the San Francisco International Asian American Film
Festival this year, screening at three different times in the Mixtape 4: The MSG Addict shorts
program. If you like this one, be sure to check out the whole program.
(Because I'm lame, I didn't post this last week, so one opp is already
gone. Two more, though!)
Yasmine is a former board member of
Hapa Issues Forum, which I mentioned last week (or was it the week
before?) Although this film doesn't address hapaness (okay, you can
make an argument for it being about accepting yourself), it's a great
example of how my generation of hapas has moved out into the community,
doing their own thing and not worrying about Issues so much.
