Al Robles Memorial This Sunday

May 13, 2009

As Curtis Choy made clear in his film Manilatown is in the Heart, Al Robles was the spirit of the I-Hotel, as it was when the building was torn down. Manong Al was in the middle of the Asian American Movement in the San Francisco Bay Area, and touched the lives of everyone involved. His memorial will be an amazing opportunity to connect or reconnect with Al's extended community.

I'll be helping to organize volunteers, so if you'd like to help, please email me with your name and cell phone number at claire at the domain of hyphenmagazine with a dot com.
