It's actually out on DVD now, but is a film to be seen on the big screen. I don't say that about every film, but it's so nicely shot and everything. I have to say, I wasn't too hot on the film's ending, but overall, I really enjoyed the film and recommended it to a lot of people. The producers include Tony Bui (Three Seasons) and Ham Tran (Journey From the Fall, The Anniversary), some of the heavyweights among Vietnamese American filmmakers. Also, we gotta support our Asian American filmmakers at the box office.
It's showing in limited theaters in SoCal and opens in San Jose Jan. 23. It will then open in Houston and Dallas on Feb. 6, and San Francisco's Sundance Kabuki Feb. 13. (Hey, if you are going to celebrate Valentine's Day in SF, then might as well support an Asian American filmmaker!).
