Paj Ntaub: Stories of Hmong in Washington Exhibit
The Paj Ntaub is a flower cloth woven by Hmong women to stitch a record preserving Hmong history. Exhibit includes family photos, cultural artifacts, and first-person stories to convey the rich history and culture of Hmong in Washington State. Exhibit runs through Ocotber 17, 2010.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum presents "The Art of Gaman: Arts and Crafts from the Japanese American Internment Camps, 1942-1946". The exhibit features over 120 art objects from former internees and their families -- as well as archival photos, artifacts, and documentary films. Exhibit runs through January 30, 2011.

Lilya 4-Ever: Anti-Human Trafficking Film Screening
NYU Wagner Asian Pacific American Student Alliance (APASA) will screen the award-winning international film Lilya 4-Ever. This feature-length narrative explores the world of a teenage girl in the former Soviet Union whose mother abandons her to move to the United States. The film follows Lilya’s story and its downward spiral, as she becomes a victim of the lucrative, underground sex trade. Join APASA to take a look into one of many forms of human trafficking.

API Short Screenplay Contest
The 2010 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival announces the first annual LAAPFF Short Screenplay Competition. Co-presented with Mavericks of Asian Pacific Islander Descent (MAPID), the competition will award three finalists with a Write Brothers Software Package. The grand prize is an intensive consultation on a script with Academy Award winner Chris Tashima. The awards ceremony will be held on May 6, 2010. Complete submission information here.
