John Yoo Awkward on 'The Daily Show'

January 12, 2010

I'll give it to Yoo; he makes the best of a truly torturous (pun!) interview by projecting a stance of neutrality, though, that could be more for self-preservation purposes in front of a predominantly left-leaning host and studio audience.

Stewart's interviews with controversial figures make me uncomfortable from the get-go, but that's a good thing. Who would've thought that the most honest dialogue between people with opposing beliefs and ideologies would happen on a fake news show...on basic cable.

And talk about some paltry opening applause for Yoo! He would have fared better at Amateur Night at the Apollo.

Check out the extended John Yoo interview at The Daily Show's official website.
