As we wrap up our Summer 2010 campaign (and gear up for Mr. Hyphen 2010), we want to thank all of you who gave generously in support of Hyphen! All contributions go towards producing our beloved magazine; at a cost of $10,000 a pop, that's no small feat.
Over fifty of you gave, bringing in more than $5,000, which ranks this among one of our top fundraising efforts! Every donation, from $5 to over $1,000, really counts -- not only in the financial sense, but also in that it makes all of us staff really feel like our work is recognized and validated. Being an all-volunteer organization, there is no doubt that we are passionate and committed, and we are honored and pleased to share that with you all as friends, family, and Hyphen community members.
In so many cultures, people give thanks to each other with food, and in that tradition, Hyphen is offering you a seat at our virtual, family-style feast (our more delicious version of a group hug). We really could not do this without you, and we are so grateful that you are part of our extended family. Really, this is no time to be your usual modest selves -- please accept our sincere praise and appreciation!
We hope you stay with us as we grow and improve on what we do. Though this campaign has concluded, we always love accepting donations at any time.
As my aunt always likes to say, "Until we eat again!"
