Add your name to Hyphen's library of good writers and good reading.  Do it soon, though:  the deadline for this year's short story contest is September 29th (so have it postmarked by Monday).  See here for details, and send that piece in.  We can't wait to read it.

the first time i read hyphen, it was issue 9, and what made me fall in love with hyphen was danny nguyen's "davydia." i re-read that story so many times and each time it would make me laugh. i also really enjoyed philip huang's "pineola inn." the fiction section is one of my favorites! submit!
