Hip-hop duo Magnetic North and emcee/singer-songwriter Taiyo Na are throwing a launch party for their new music video "Summertime". The video is a conceptual piece exploring childhood innocence and bygone days. Plus, drink specials 'til midnight!

The Asian American theater company Second Generation presents the world premiere production of Thunder Above, Deeps Below by A. Rey Pamatmat. A trio of homeless youth beg on the streets of Chicago for bus fare westward, with a journey through coffee shops, drag clubs, and mythic Lake Michigan waters.

Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) 40th Anniversary
Founded by a group of young Asian American activists in 1969, CAA aims to defend civil rights and advance multiracial democracy in America. CAA will be commemorating four decades of work with a "Celebration of Justice" dinner, including a keynote address by State Controller John Chiang. Hyphen was an honoree at last year's event.
