Immigration Reform Town Hall

legal network.JPGThe Asian Law Caucus and San Francisco Immigrant Legal and Education Network will kick off a Bay Area campaign for humane immigration reform, with a community town hall on International Migrants' Day. Advocates will urge Congressional leaders to fight for a just and compassionate immigration system.

The Asian Arts Initiative's "Family Style" open mic series presents "HAPA HAPPY", hosted by spoken word duo Yellow Rage and featuring slam poet Thaddeus Rutkowski. Anomaly, a film by Jessica Chen Drammeh, will also be screened.

2009-12-20 Sulu Series - Hapasmall.JPGSulu Series, a monthly showcase of up-and-coming and established APIA performance artists, presents a special "Hapa" edition. Featuring rapper Koba, spoken word artist Michelle Myers of Yellow Rage, musician Jared Rehberg, writer/performer Samantha Chanse, and Una Osato. Co-sponsored by Loving Day, with proceeds benefiting the Catalyst Foundation, which aims to improve the lives of at-risk populations in Vietnam through anti-child trafficking work and community capacity building.
