We all need a little beauty in our lives. Fortunately for us, there are several little beauties in each box of chocolates from Jin Patisserie. Co-owner Kristy Choo hand-dips, hand-paints, and infuses her chocolates with flavors from around the world, such as Lychee, Earl Grey Feuilletine, and Mango Kalamansi.
Born in Singapore, Choo attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, where she developed a love for desserts, but it was while working at Raffles Hotel in Singapore that she became passionate about chocolate. Since then, she has trained with renowned chefs and won international awards for her chocolate creations. She considers food an art form, and chocolate her “primary medium of expression.”
A few years ago, Choo and her husband opened Jin Patisserie in Venice, CA, and now they have brought Choo's delectable cookies, cakes, and of course, chocolates, to a national audience through their online shop. —Jane Liaw
